Sophie is an associate director in the IfG Academy team, where she works on designing and delivering professional development for private offices and ministers.
Prior to joining the Institute, Sophie was a civil servant, where she specialised in cross-government leadership development. She left the civil service in 2020 to focus on building leadership capabilities amongst young people as CEO of the Future Leaders Network. In 2021, she chaired all youth engagement into the UK’s G7 presidency, securing an historic policy win for young people and interviewing the Prime Minister.
In 2022, Sophie co-founded the Youth Negotiators Academy, where she trained more than 200 young diplomats from over 50 countries and supported them to represent their countries in UN negotiations. She has collaborated with several world-renowned partners, including the UN Institute for Training and Research and the Harvard Kennedy School, to design high-quality, high-impact leadership and professional development programmes.
