Our research, events and commentary looked at government decision making during the pandemic including the use of science advice, the development of key policies including the furlough scheme, communication with the public and broader lockdown strategy. We have looked at the impact of the pandemic on public services and continue to track and analyse public service backlogs in our Performance Tracker work. We have also undertaken work on crisis planning and preparedness in central government and the role of key public bodies including Public Health England during the pandemic.

We are expert commentators on public inquiries and are currently analysing the establishment and impact of the Covid-19 public inquiry.
