Vicky is Director of the IfG Academy which helps those in government to be effective and those outside it to understand it better.
The IfG Academy team designs and delivers workshops and professional development for ministers, opposition politicians, civil servants (including private offices), public servants, academics and other audiences interested in working better with government.
Before joining the Institute, Vicky was a civil servant for over 20 years. Prior to specialising in learning and development, her roles ranged from EU and international policy and strategy on environment, education and science, to work on trade promotion and delivering diversity and inclusion programmes. More recently she has led teams in the Cabinet Office delivering in person and virtual training and leadership programmes for civil servants and wider public sector leaders. Directly before joining the Institute she was seconded to the Local Government Association where she led a team of 30 responsible for learning and development for officers, councillors and mayors across local government.
