Pauline Joy

Director of Finance and Resources

Pauline is the Director of Finance and Resources. She is responsible for all aspects of operations at the Institute – finance, HR, facilities, IT and all legal and regulatory matters. 

 Pauline studied history and German at university and then trained as a chartered accountant at KPMG. She subsequently worked in the construction and telecoms industries before moving to Germany and starting a family. On her return to the UK, Pauline spent four years as a non-executive director of an NHS trust, including two as chair of the audit committee, and completed a masters degree in contemporary history and politics. When her children reached secondary school age, she took on the role of head of finance at Prospect Magazine before joining the Institute in 2018. 

Pauline is also treasurer and acting vice-chair of Watford Mencap, a local charity supporting the learning disabled.
