David leads the Institute's work on building and maintaining relationships with commercial, academic, political, public, third sector and foundation based partners in the UK and internationally. He focuses on generating funding for research and learning and development activities and on ensuring the IfG has access to specialist audiences to generate additional impact for its work.
Until he joined the Institute in September 2017, David was head of political engagement at Prospect magazine, where he was responsible for devising, funding and delivering Prospect's political engagement activities. These included events and reports on infrastructure, financial services, regional devolution and trade, as well as increasing the magazine's presence at the political party conferences.
Before joining Prospect, David occupied various roles at Dods, running PoliticsHome's Central Lobby and working with clients from various sectors including energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and financial services to support them in achieving their public affairs objectives. Whilst there, he also devised and delivered the company's political communications campaigns and party conference programmes.
