Working to make government more effective

Paul Shepley

Former Data Scientist

Paul was a data scientist and contributed to the Institute’s research work on data and digital in government.

Paul co-led a piece of research into government data sharing practices during the pandemic, and had growing interests in how government uses data, either in for managing itself or in designing and evaluating policy decisions. Additionally, he helped teams across the Institute with their data work, including across all major tracker projects.

Prior to joining the Institute, Paul was a lecturer in geotechnical engineering at the University of Sheffield, teaching civil engineering students and conducting research experiments on construction processes. This was the topic of his PhD in geotechnical engineering.
