Two years to the day that the government first revealed its detailed plans for the future of the NHS, the Institute for Government and the King’s Fund launched a study commissioned from Nicholas Timmins, former public policy editor of the Financial Times, on the passage of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. Nick told the story of the reforms and the lessons to be drawn from them.
