Former research assistant

James was a research assistant working on the Institute’s devolution and Treasury projects. He has recently completed a PhD in History at Cambridge, investigating state-formation in Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Indonesia. Prior to this he worked at Camfed, a charity, researching topics including forced migration and its relationship to education in sub-Saharan Africa.
