Tuesday 9 May 2017 - 18:00
Tuesday 9 May 2017, 18:00

Freedom of Information. Open data. Open government. We know more about the inner workings of government than ever before. But has all of this transparency made government work better? And with Brexit and now a general election in the UK, and the election of President Trump in the US, what happens next?

Our event explored theseĀ big questions. OurĀ panelists included:

  • Jeni Tennison, CEO of the Open Data Institute
  • Ben Worthy, Birkbeck, University of London, and author of The Politics of Freedom of Information: How and Why Governments Pass Laws That Threaten Their Power
  • Gavin Freeguard, Head of Data and Transparency at the Institute for Government.

This event was chaired by Federica Cocco, Statistics Journalist at the Financial Times.
