Brexit presents one of the most complex set of negotiations the UK has ever entered into. The talks on both the exit agreement and future relationship will determine the country’s key policy areas and industries.

The latest event in our Brexit series explored the UK’s negotiating strategy, (including areas for compromise and red lines), the Government’s potential bargaining chips and the need for a transition or implementation phase.

Our panel included:

  • Rt Hon Gisela Stuart MP, Chair of Change Britain
  • Sir Stephen Wall, former UK Permanent Representative to the European Union
  • Sir Andrew Cahn, former head of UK Trade & Investment and Chef de Cabinet to Lord Kinnock
  • Mark Boleat, Chairman of City of London Corporation’s Policy and Resources Committee.

The event was chaired by Jill Rutter, Programme Director at the Institute for Government.
