He was talking to Bronwen Maddox, director of the Institute for Government followed by an opportunity for audience Q&A.

The attorney general is chief legal adviser to the Crown, as well as overseeing the Law Officers’ departments, which include the Crown Prosecution Service and the Serious Fraud Office. He is principal legal adviser on questions of international law, human rights and devolution issues; and considers legal aspects of all major international and domestic litigation involving the government.
