But can public services maintain the efficiencies they’ve made since 2010 and will this cash injection be enough to reverse the decline in service performance?
This event launched the fourth edition of Performance Tracker, a data-driven analysis of the performance of key public services, including: prisons, hospitals, schools, police and adult social care.
For the first time, Performance Tracker also assesses how demand for public services will change over the next five years and whether government spending plans are realistic.
Graham Atkins, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Government, presented the key findings.
