After the Council: what next for the Brexit negotiations?

We were delighted to welcome to the Institute for Government Stefaan De Rynck, Advisor to the European Chief Negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier.

Mr De Rynck gave an update on the progress of negotiations from the EU’s perspective and discussed what happens next. 

To discuss the implications and pose their own questions, our panel included:

• John Peet, Political and Brexit Editor of The Economist
• Dr Chris Bickerton, Fellow of Queen’s College at Cambridge University and author of The European Union: A Citizen’s Guide
• Jill Rutter, Programme Director at the Institute for Government.

This was followed by audience questions.

The event was chaired by Bronwen Maddox, Director of the Institute for Government.
