Working to make government more effective

David Frost and Penny Mordaunt negotiating with the EU

Brexit negotiations

As part of the Brexit process, the UK and EU negotiated two agreements; the Withdrawal Agreement, which set the terms of the UK’s exit including the financial settlement, citizens rights and the Northern Ireland Protocol; and the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, which established the terms of the future relationship.

Throughout, we provided explanation and analysis on both the UK and EU negotiating positions – in their various interaction –  the progress of talks, and the texts of the final deals themselves. We continue to monitor their implementation.
