Britain’s role in the WTO after Brexit

Wednesday 18 September 2019, 08:30 - 09:30

Deal or no deal, the UK will take up an independent seat at the World Trade Organization after Brexit.

This event explored what role the UK should play and how can it defend its interests in an organisation under pressure to reform.

Our panel included:

  • Nick-Ashton Hart – Geneva Representative for Digital Trade Network
  • Bernardine Adkins - Head of EU, Trade and Competition at Gowling WLG LLP
  • Iana Dreyer – Editor of Borderlex, European trade policy specialist
  • Dr. Stephanie Rickard – Professor of International Trade at LSE.

The event was chaired by Jill Rutter, Programme Director at the Institute for Government. There was an opportunity for audience questions.
