Grenfell Tower: How to run the public inquiry

Questions remain over how the Grenfell Inquiry should be run and meet public concerns.

The Government has now established a public inquiry into the tragic Grenfell Tower fire. But huge questions remain over how an inquiry should be run and meet public concerns.

This event explored the fundamental aspects of public inquiries and how they relate to the Grenfell tragedy, from the terms of reference and how it will relate to parallel criminal investigations, to the timely reporting of findings.

Our panel included:

  • Chris Cook, Policy Editor, BBC Newsnight
  • Sir Paul Jenkins, KCB QC (Hon), Associate Member, Matrix Chambers
  • Victoria Vasey, Director, North Kensington Law Centre

The event was chaired by Bronwen Maddox, Director at the Institute for Government.
