Ministerial resignations outside reshuffles by prime minister, 1979 to June 2023

Theresa May and Boris Johnson both have high numbers of resignations, with steep increases towards the end of their tenure. Rishi Sunak has now seen six ministerial resignations from his government, meaning he has had the most of any recent prime minister at this point in his tenure, around eight months in.
