Dr Joe Devanny

Dr Joe Devanny is a lecturer in the Department of War Studies and the Deputy Director of the Centre for Defence Studies at King’s College London (KCL). Joe was previously the Security Programme Director of a KCL spin-out company, Ridgeway Information, and prior to that was a research fellow at the International Centre for Security Analysis (ICSA) at the Policy Institute, KCL. His research focuses on national security co-ordination and strategy, and the role of strategic analysis in the national security system.

Between 2014 and 2016, Joe worked at the Institute for Government and KCL as a postdoctoral research associate on the AHRC-funded Contemporary History of Whitehall project.
