Performance data and reports are used to assess government performance and can be used by citizens for choosing services. Allocating resources to effective policy and programs requires a strong evidence base and analytical capability.
To what extent is evidence used in budgetary decision making between the Treasury and departments and within departments? Are some incentives more effective than others for encouraging good performance?
