Internships available at the Institute for Government

13th July 2010

The Institute for Government is currently inviting applications for its autumn 2010 internship programme (starting September or October).

We are looking to take on at least three interns to work across the research and learning teams.

The precise nature of the internship will vary according to the needs of project leads. Past interns have found themselves:

  • conducting interviews
  • undertaking statistical analysis
  • co-writing published reports.

Interns may also be required to help out with events management, administration and other tasks.

What we offer

In return, we provide the opportunity for excellent work experience in a young yet established institution at the heart of Westminster with close connections to government and all political parties.

Interns are treated as full members of the team. They have the opportunity to attend regular seminars, receptions and social activities.

We are able to reimburse travel expenses and to make a contribution to living costs. We also provide breakfast and lunch in our staff dining room.

What we are looking for

We are looking for confident and reliable graduates or students with:

  • a good academic record
  • knowledge of and interest in government and politics
  • excellent communication
  • organisational and research skills
  • a desire to contribute to the work of the Institute for Government.

Candidates will be expected to work 3-5 days per week, over a period of 2-3 months.

Application deadline

5pm, Fri 30 July 2010
