This event explored the opportunities that English devolution brings for joining up local public services.

This event explored the opportunities that English devolution brings for joining up local public services. Our panel drew on their experiences to examine the approaches that Greater Manchester, the Sheffield City Region, and the West Midlands are taking to joining up public services such as employment and skills, and health and social care. The event explored the challenges that these areas are working on, and the lessons that other areas less far along in the devolution process can learn.

The event was chaired by Dr Jo Casebourne, Programme Director, Institute for Government.

Panellists:

Rachel Pykett – Policy Advisor, Greater Manchester Public Service Reform Team
Andrew Gates – Head of Policy, Sheffield City Region LEP/Combined Authority
Rachel Jones – Chief Superintendent, West Midlands Police
Andrew Campbell – Associate Director, Local Government Association
