Non-executives – the next phase

Sir Ian Cheshire reflected on the impact which non-executives have had to date in departments and across Whitehall.

Sir Ian Cheshire was appointed as the government’s Lead Non-Executive Director in April 2015, taking over from Lord Browne. Sir Ian has had a long and distinguished career in the private sector, most recently as Chief Executive of Kingfisher plc, and was formerly the Lead Non-Executive Director of the Department for Work and Pensions. At this event he reflected on the impact which non-executives have had to date in departments and across Whitehall, and on the priorities for non-executive directors in the future.

This event is chaired by Peter Riddell, Director of the Institute for Government.
