Jon Cruddas MP gives a keynote speech on effective government and the role of the state.

With the general election fast approaching, the Institute for Government has released its ‘Programme for Effective Government’, which identifies the common priorities and challenges facing all political parties. The report outlines a series of practical measures for parties to adopt in making sure they honour their party manifestos, achieve their goals, and govern effectively.  Jon Cruddas responds to the Programme and sets out his own insights into how Labour would establish a more effective government in 2015 and beyond.

Jon Cruddas is the Labour MP for Dagenham and Rainham. He was appointed Labour Party Policy Coordinator in 2012.

The event is chaired by Peter Riddell, Director, Institute for Government.
