How might a second Coalition work? Lessons from the 2010 Coalition talks and the years since

The Institute for Government hosts a discussion about the possibility of another coalition being formed in May 2015.

The Institute for Government hosts a discussion about the possibility of another coalition (of whatever political composition) being formed in May 2015, and to consider how the process of forming, running and sustaining a second coalition might, and should, differ from last time.

Peter Riddell chairs a discussion with:

  • Julia Goldsworthy – former special adviser to the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle
  • Andrew Cooper (Lord Cooper of Windrush) – Founding Director of Populus, and Director of Strategy to the Prime Minister between 2011 and 2013
  • Gavin Kelly – Chief Executive of the Resolution Foundation, and former Deputy Chief of Staff in 10 Downing Street.
