Satisfaction, perception and confidence indicators in PSA framework

The following table presents the Institute's analysis of the indicators in the PSA framework that measure aspects of perception, satisfaction, engagament, experience or confidence.

Perception Indicators

PSA15 - Equalities

  • Differential gap in self-reported choice and control in terms of assistance, equipment, flexible working, and caring arrangements that enable independent living
  • Differential gap in perception of employment-based discrimination
  • Differential gap in perception of dignity and respect

PSA17 - Later life

  • The extent to which older people receive the support they need to live independently at home

PSA21 - Cohesive communities

  • Percentage of people who believe that people from different backgrounds get on well together in their local area
  • Percentage of people who have meaningful interactions on a regular basis with people from different ethnic or religious backgrounds
  • Percentage of people who feel that they belong to their neighbourhood
  • Percentage of people who feel they can influence decisions affecting their local area

PSA23 - Safer communities

  •  Perception of anti-social behaviour

PSA25 - Alcohol & drugs

  • Percentage of the public who perceive drug use or dealing to be a problem in their area
  • Percentage of the public who perceive drunk or rowdy behaviour to be a problem in their area

Satisfaction Indicators

PSA17 - Later life

  • Proportion of people aged 65 and over who are satisfied with their home and their neighbourhood

PSA19 -Better care for all

  •  Patient experience of access to primary care

PSA24 - More effective, transparent, responsive CJS

  •  Experience of the CJS for victims and users

Engagement Indicators

PSA15 - Equalities

  • Differential gap in participation in civic society (disadvantaged groups vs non-disadvantaged groups)

Experience Indicators

PSA19 - Better care for all

  • The self-reported experience of patients and users 
  • People with long-term conditions supported to be independent and in control of their condition

Confidence Indicators

PSA23 - Safer Communities

  • Public confidence in local agencies dealing with anti-social behaviour and crime issues that matter to people in their local area

PSA24 -More effective, transparent, responsive CJS

  •  Public confidence in the fairness and effectiveness of the CJS
